As someone who just had a budget wedding, I will say that it was really, really hard to do without everything looking obviously cheap.  Everywhere you look there's something expensive that you could buy and enjoy for four hours and it's hard to find alternate ideas that aren't too homemade looking.  I was really happy to find the blog I Do Budget Weddings and read about the solutions that Hazel found as she planned her wedding in LA.
