Style I Love: Zooey Deschanel

Ever since I saw her in Elf, I've followed Zooey Deschanel's career and made a point to check out her films and music.  Of course, I can't help but notice her amazing personal style - and the multitude of other bloggers who've basically written this same post.  This month, Zooey is on the cover of Lucky and I was further inspired to take a closer look at what she wears and how to duplicate it.

When you look at a lot of images of someone, it's almost like looking into their closet, you start to see similarities.  The trends I notice are: whites and creams, crochet, vintage inspired prints, tights!, ruffles, full skirts, high waists, and flashing decolletage rather than legs.

If Zooey were on a regular girl budget, here are some things I think she'd buy...

Ladylike Layers
I notice that Zooey likes a good bow-neck blouse and isn't afraid of pattern in a full skirt.  I went for cobalt tights as an unexpected twist to balance out of basic Jackie cardigan.

Mod Music Room Photo Shoot
I had to include some kind of ivory dress with lace detailing and a bold plum pair of tights.  I added vintage inspired jewelry, but the whole look is more funky than granny.

Springtime Errands in LA
I liked how this dress was simple and casual, but feminie and easily jazzed up with fun accessories and the famous Wayfarers.

Alice in Wonderland
I immediately bookmarked this dress when I saw it, since it embodies the whole storybook look that Zooey carries off so well.

If you haven't noticed, I think Zooey shops at Modcloth ;-)
