I am in my sister-in-law's wedding on Friday, and I'm wearing this dress at this venue (outdoors):
And these pumps (please cross your fingers that I don't fall and break my ankle - I don't want to be that bridesmaid who fell down the stairs because of the matching shoes):
And I have this hair, which is ridiculously thick (put your index finger on the tip of your thumb and that's my ponytail) and doesn't like to stay in an updo:
I have to decide on a hairstyle, and don't know what I should do with it. I hate styles like this that look too perfect (no offense if this is your style, it just looks bad on me):
So, I'm thinking something similar to these options:
What do you think? Please leave me a comment and help me decide!
I love option #3!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your blog!
I love and am slightly jealous of your hair. The first and 3rd are my favorites - I love the second as well, but it doesn't take advantage of your pretty bangs.
ReplyDeleteThe Eva hairstyle for sure!!
ReplyDelete2, 3 and 5 seem more you! You will do great.. Dont worry...and yes...you are a trooper after seeing those heels
ReplyDeleteI think Eva's is beautiful! I also know what it is like to have thick and heavy hair, so the half up half down with loose curls is always one I like too!
ReplyDeletelove the blonde hair updo- the second one! so unique!

1 or 5. Hope you have fun & post pics of your selection afterwards! - Rachel W.
ReplyDeleteLove the Eva Longoria hairstyle and I love the last style with the braid !! Both really pretty.

I love it when dilemmas are fun things like hairstyles and not like picking a person to donate a kidney...Um, not that someone would *actually* put that one on a blog! But I digress (c:...I absolutely love Eva's hair, but I'm thinking you would still have the problem with the up-do...that last one with the cute lil' braid would be fab and probably less fussy during the whole soiree...Either way, I'm sure you are going to be *lovely*!
ReplyDeleteI love the updo's...and if you go for a messier one, people probably won't notice if your silky hair sorta starts to slip down, right? =) Your hair is gorgeous by the way! =)

I love a messy bun. Great dress...you will rock it!
ReplyDeletei vote for 2 or 3! i think having your hair loosely up will make you feel more comfortable. hair sticking to a sweaty back is no fun!
ReplyDeleteI liked the second one best (I believe it's Eva Longoria). I'm sure you'll look great though :)
ReplyDeleteHaley-I too have thick, heavy, long, auburn hair. Given how tailored the dress and shoes are, I strongly vote for Eva's hairdo. The softness of that 'do will contrast nicely with the tailored outfit, and will keep you cool in the Texas heat.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the last one with the braid!! have a fantastic time at the wedding. xoxo jcd :: cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct on the hate for "styles like this that look too perfect" - I totally agree and think they just scream 2002. I'm also not feeling the braid for a formal event like a wedding - somehow it doesn't feel timeless enough.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the Eva L. one, or the blonde in the 2nd to last pict.
The Eva Longoria hairstyle is similar to what I had when I was a bride. I also have thick hair (though not as long as yours) and with the help of A TON of bobbie pins, my hair never moved and looked great all day. While I did have a veil in my hair, even after we took the veil out, the hairstyle still stayed in place so I'm sure it could for you as well!
ReplyDeleteim clearly too late here, but i would have gone with the eva longoria one. which did you pick?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the opinions!! I was leaning towards the Eva style and showed the pictures to the stylist and she said that it would look nice, but she'd have to alter it since "you can't loosely pin up a pound of hair" In the end, I ended up with a combination of that and the look below it and it looked great. Pics to come!
ReplyDeleteAlso, if anyone wants the shoes, they are $10. :)
