Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend - I did a lot of relaxing and drinking of sangria and now I feel ready to face what will probably be another bad week outside of the internet. Luckily, I have Pinterest to serve up images to make me smile and feel inspired when I want to run away from my desk.
I think it's important to know what you like and keep an archive of photos for ideas in case you ever need to make a decision. Pinterest makes this easy, and lately I've been culling photos of houses I love so that when the time comes for me and N to buy or build a new home I am ready. Even if that time is 5 years from now.
I am completely in love with the Craftsman style of architecture, and my dream is to live in a house like these with gorgeous paint hues and stone work.
Sadly, this style isn't very common in Texas but I have a long history of only liking things that are hard to find. Do you have a favorite style of house? Or are you lucky enough to live in your dream home?
What lovely houses - I love that style! You're so right - collecting looks/things you love is so satisfying :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful! there's nothing more fun that "house window shopping" - even if you're nowhere near ready to buy (like us) :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home! I love house hunting..even if it is 5 years from now, you have your sights set on something grandeur!

I love Craftsman homes as well! I think it might have something to do with growing up in Southern California where many Craftsman homes (including a few Green and Green ones) are plentiful.
ReplyDeleteI would love to live in a Spanish style home with a red tile roof (I grew up in a home of this style) but those are pretty rare in the Midwest :)
I also love the craftsman style of home!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm a fan as well! My home is a 1945 bungalow style, which seems to be the pre-cursor to craftsman. :)
ReplyDeletethese are beautiful!! i seem to love red brick anything right now...but my preferences change weekly :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful homes darlin!!! Now you are making me want a home, which is not possible in the city. :) Gotta love that Texas space! I've actually seen a couple of homes similar to the ones you posted, in Lantana (used to work there and I know some of the builders have that style.)
ReplyDeleteLove the Craftsman style-- and it's never too early to start looking and planning :)
ReplyDeleteLove the old colonial tudor style homes!
ReplyDeleteI would love a front porch. Perhaps even more than a deck. I also agree the Craftsman style is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that style! My city (Portland) has neighborhoods chock full of them. So cute! xoxo
ReplyDeletethis ia lovely houses -fun that "house window shopping"even if you're nowhere near ready like and Please log on our website for Jaipur Property
ReplyDeleteThese homes are beautiful - and you're right - there aren't hardly ANY of them in Dallas! My brother lives in denver, however, and they are ALL OVER that city - love them!
ReplyDeleteI love this style of house too! I always see them other places but hardly here in Texas. Great idea! I need to get going on figuring what I want in a house. Maybe I can have you over to decorate it one of these days...when we get one...
ReplyDeleteI'm probably lumping a lot of styles together under one term here but I love the style of the houses in America and Canada. I'm sure they're not all like the ones I've seen but I'm talking about the ones that stand on their own little bit of land and no two look alike. That's really unusual here. (I live in England) We do have completely detached houses but they carry a ridiculous house valuation and the other houses are still very, very close to you.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm a recluse or anything like that but I could live without having a couple of other houses pressing in on me.
That's a pretty beautiful home, make sure you get the conveyancing sorted for that place!
