Ever since we finished our big DIY projects around the house, I turned my attention to sprucing up our guest room, that I'd hastily "decorated" for $150 in 2010. I didn't have a lot of money to throw around this time either, but I relocated a lot of stuff I already had and found some great deals that came together in a way that makes the room much more soothing and special. Plus, I didn't pay more than $50 for anything I purchased!
Check out more pictures, plus the source list after the jump...
The Details:
I redressed the existing bed and headboard with new and existing linens, and brought in a rug that was in my dining area.
I spray painted some Ikea frames and had 10x10 prints made of some pictures that my husband took on our vacation in Capri.
I also spray painted my antique lamp with my trusty gold paint, as well as the bottom of an Ikea bud vase. The nightstand was my husband's, and it will probably get replaced eventually.
I scored a great cube table/stool at a warehouse sale, and positioned it as a suitcase stand underneath a gold 3/4 length mirror (is that a thing? It's not quite full length). The curtains are from Ikea, but I needed something to hide the horrendous shoulder-height windows that were all the rage in the 1950s.
Also, I got another mirror at a sale and am trying to decide which will live above the bed. Which option do y'all like better?
